About B.O.T.A.

Builders of the Adytum is a non-profit association dedicated to the dissemination of the Holy Qabalah and the Sacred Tarot.

The Greek word, Adytum, means inner shrine. Members of the Order, through dedicated study, meditation, and gradual self-transmutation aspire to build the inner temple, wherein their true spiritual heritage may be realised.

If your quest is to be sincere and you persist in your search, you will eventually be drawn to a Mystery School where you will receive training and instruction. B.O.T.A. is such an authentic Mystery School, founded in 1922 by Dr Paul Foster Case.

Dr Case was given the task of interpreting the Ageless Wisdom in terms understandable to the modern western mind. The result of his dedication and hard work is the lesson material that comprises the B.O.T.A. correspondence course. Dr Ann Davies, his associate and successor, added to this material that is unique in its wisdom and understanding of human psychology.

The depth of the teaching material, combined with its highly practical application, is relevant in any era, but particularly in today's modern stressful society, as we have entered this 21st century, which has its singular and particular challenges and problems to face and overcome.

We can draw upon the Wisdom of the Ages, to understand the world we live in, and grasp the inner realities behind its outward forms and appearances.

The Alchemists of old well understood the mysteries surrounding the birth of the Universe, the Unity of Life, the Oneness of the Universe, and most importantly, the role of humanity as an integral part of this Oneness. This teaching has met the tests of centuries of practical application. Results are achieved by sincere aspirants everywhere and have done so from the mists of time. You can also benefit from these teachings.

When you begin the work of B.O.T.A. the sources of power within you are revealed to you. You are taught how to draw upon these reservoirs of energy in order that you may bring greater harmony into your life.

The aim of B.O.T.A. is to hasten the brotherhood of humankind, and to make manifest the truth that Love is the only power in the Universe.

Central to the work of B.O.T.A. is the Qabalistic system. The  Qabalistic system is a body of spiritual knowledge. It has order and system but it is not crystallized knowledge, which can lead to dogmatism. It must be pondered before it  reveals its  deeper secrets. The higher mysteries of creation are revealed to those who make themselves capable of comprehending principles that are always true so that they can be related to any period of history or cycle of evolution.

The Qabalah is also a Unity of Wisdom, a linking of knowledge developed by many different individuals and groups throughout many eras and cycles, into One Body. In this it remains true to the principle whereby individualised development of anything has for its purpose the enhancement of the whole, not the individuals separately. Hence the aim of the student of the Qabalah is to become a purified vehicle for the power of Love and Wisdom and so enable the hastening of the Brotherhood of Humanity on Earth.
